Santa's Calling

Volunteers will be assisting Mr. & Mrs. Claus this holiday season by providing them a direct phone line into our community. Parents who would like their children (3 - 12 years of age) to receive a phone call from Santa should pick up a form and return it to the GRC by Sunday, Dec. 10. Mr. & Mrs. Claus are very busy so they'll only have time for one call to each family. Phone calls will be made on either Tuesday, Dec. 12 or Wednesday, December 13, between the hours of 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. We will make every attempt to honor the preferred day and time that you indicate on your registration form.

S4DR (Soles for the Dominican Republic)

Can you spare a pair? Of shoes that is. The Groveport Recreation Center is collecting new and "good" used shoes (all sizes). Those shoes will then be taken to two communities in the Dominican Republic with the help of a local church, which is coordinating two mission trips to the D.R. in 2017. Did you know that half of the children who reside in the D.R. live in poverty? Many working adults cannot afford shoes for themselves or their family members. Your spare pair can help put a big smile on someone's face this year. Athletic/Tennis shoes are preferred, but all types of shoes (with the exception of heels) are welcome. This program will be ongoing for the next couple of months. Just look for the big box labeled S4DR in the lobby of the Recreation Center. Thank you in advance for leaving an imprint of your soul on the world.
