Steven has been an artist all of his life. His work has progressed through years of intense study of classical methods and modern techniques into a craft that can be molded to fit any application. Steven's main disciplines are oil classical oil painting in the style of post Pre Raphaelite realism and design that is inclusive of drawing and architecture.
He taught oil painting, portraiture and architectural design at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio. (1999-2004). In the 1980s he worked for a sign company in Groveport, Ohio as a designer, painter and fabricator. Steven has produced countless architectural drawings and plans for architectural firms and engineering firms and have worked on design teams. He believes these experiences have greatly enhanced my understanding of the ways in which art can enhance and complement a structure.
Steven has been commissioned to paint on many varying surfaces other than canvas and linen. He finds canvas and linen to be very archival materials that last for centuries in environments protected from the elements, however, He has been fortunate to have been commissioned to paint on metals and do murals on primed and / or painted drywall.
Many of his commissions and sales have been oil paintings, designs and portraits, but his vast experience and background lend his talents and abilities to be tailored to any situation.
As a child, he was fascinated by the intense study and accomplishment of Leonardo Da Vinci. As an adult, he is captivated by the challenge and opportunity to continue that path in my work.
